Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, one of India’s most prestigious educational institutions, is set to make a bold international leap with the launch of its inaugural global research centre in Dubai. The establishment of the IITM Global Dubai Centre is the result of a strategic agreement between IIT Madras and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET). During the GITEX Global 2024 event, which was held in Dubai, the formal agreement was signed by Hadi Badri, CEO of the Dubai Economic Development Corporation, and Prof. Raghunathan Rengaswamy, Dean of Global Engagement at IIT Madras. This collaboration is poised to make Dubai a major player in the fields of research and development (R&D), innovation, and entrepreneurship.
